Hope Kids Director Job Description

The Hope Kids Director’s (HKD) responsibilities are to provide leadership, training, and support for all aspects of Hope Kids (Birth-5th grade and sensory ministry). 

Jobs Specifics: 

  • The Director of Hope kids will report to The Director of Church Ministry. 

  • Evaluations take place twice a year (January and July).

  • The Director of Hope Kids is a part-time salary position requiring the employee to work an average of 15 hours a week, annualized.

  • Hope Fellowship will provide HKD with a Hope Fellowship email address. 

  • Hope Fellowship will provide a computer or tablet for use while in Hope Fellowship employment, if needed. 


  • Developing or choosing age-appropriate, engaging, and simplistic curriculum for Hope Kids

  • Take lead on, but will work with other key staff,  in hiring and performance management of kids staff members

  • Communicate with parents as needed

  • Train and provide leadership to all Hope Kids team leads, staff, and volunteers.

  • Provide regular & ongoing coaching to all Hope Kids team leads, staff, and volunteers holding them accountable to all expectations

  • Care for current Hope Kids volunteers by praying for them weekly 

  • Ensure that all Hope Kids classrooms are well maintained, all equipment functions without hazard, and classrooms are safe for children

  • Ensure we maintain the proper ratios in our classrooms on Sunday mornings

  • Assist with planning and execution of family worship services that happen once a month

  • Train teachers on how to lead classrooms to ensure that Hope kids is engaging and that the Bible really comes to life for our kids 

  • Train volunteers on all policies and procedures of Hope Fellowship including sickness, responding to sexual abuse, and maintaining a safe classroom environment

  • Ensure ongoing sensory training/special needs training for staff and volunteers

  • Keep accurate Hope kids records including attendance numbers, accident reports, etc.

  • Organize family dedications when necessary

  • Plan the yearly calendar for Hope Kids specifically including promotion Sunday ensuring all families are aware which class their children are now participating in, as well as when their children are no longer a part of Hope Kids 

  • Update all kids information including: proper spellings of kids names, food allergies, grade, age, emergency contacts, and birthdays 

  • Manage and monitor the monthly spending in Hope Kids

  • Meet with Director of Church Ministries for accountability coaching 

  • Fill out weekly staff report and send to Lead Pastor on Fridays 

  • Perform a once a month ministry audit (Lead Pastor will give you the template for this)

  • Provide content for a monthly Hope Kids Newsletter 

  • Create a monthly 3-5 minute continuing education video training with sensory sensitivity awareness in each video
